# What is Odds & Payout?

{% hint style="success" %}
Odds = the market’s current view of probability + payout.
{% endhint %}

In Fuyo, odds move based on:

* real-time market conditions (price action, volatility, liquidity, news)
* risk controls to keep markets fair and sustainable

A simple way to read it:

* If one side looks *more likely*, it usually pays *less*.
* If one side looks *less likely*, it usually pays *more*.<br>

#### Example: BTC 15-Min Close (Higher/Lower)

Market: “Will BTC close higher in 15 minutes?”

* If the odds favor Higher, the payout for Higher may be smaller.
* If the odds favor Lower, the payout for Lower may be smaller.

You’ll always see the odds and payout preview before confirming.
